POETRY BY NOLCHA FOX

Updated: Aug 5, 2022

Your cigar is missing

from your grave.

Did you want

to fool the woman

recently buried

next to you?

Let her find out later

you like to smoke,

when she can’t

get away.

Ashes

Your urn isn’t buried

very deep.

You easily reach up, knock

the stones off your marker,

to make a good seat

for smoking

that cigar I left you.

You inhale the ashes,

and return underground,

hoping I’ll bring you

another cigar.
