Good Mother

She looks over my shoulder, corrects my punctuation. She sits in the back seat, directs me to a parking place. When I’m in pain she hugs me, and tells me it won’t last forever. She rests beside me when I sleep. She says, don’t worry, you won’t be late. She is a good mother, Death.

Nolcha has written all her life, starting with poop and crayons on the walls. Her poems have been published in Bullshit Literary Magazine, Storyteller’s Refrain, Wilder Literature and others. Her chapbook, My Father’s Ghost Hates Cats, is available on Amazon.
